>!Happy Purim
>Everything that Lea received {in 'building' the nation of Israel} Rachel also received. (I'll clarify the meaning).
>There are 2 holidays - one is Chanukah, and the other one is Purim.
>Chanukah 'was made' by Hashmonaim high 'priest' (Cohen) and his sons, {a tribe from Lea}.
>Purim 'was made' by Mordecai right man, {a tribe from Rachel}.
>Along that, there is a woman that made the miracle of Hanukkah, she is from the Levi tribe (son of Lea).
>And again there is a woman (Ester) that made the miracle of Purim, she is from the Binyamin tribe (son of Rachel).
>Here are some questions about Purim from the book "Me’ever Lamefursam”:
>1. [Ahasuerus] “he displayed the vast riches of his kingdom” [Esther 1:4]
>What did he show everyone? [Think]
>Ahasuerus wore the garments of the high priest he had brought from Jerusalem.
>Who else wore the clothes of a high priest at a feast other than Ahasuerus?
>Queen Vashti!
>2. “Memucan declared in the presence of the king and the ministers: “Queen Vashti has committed an offense not only against Your Majesty but also against all the officials…” [Esther 1:16]
>Some say that Memucan is Haman, so why did Haman advise killing Vashti?
>1) Haman saw with Yitstagnenut that the king's wife would kill him, and thought that the intention was regarded to Vashti, but he did not know that the intention was for Esther, whom he, with his own hands - was about to become queen.
>2) Because Vashti used to slap him in the face with her shoes and humiliated him, so he tried to bring her down.
>3) Because Vashti did not invite Zeresh (Haman's wife) to the women's feast!
>4) Because Haman wanted Ahasuerus to marry his daughter!
>3. [After queen Vashti’s death, the] “Majesty appoint officers in every province of your realm to assemble all the beautiful young virgins… Esther too was taken… he treated her and her maids with special kindness in the harem.” [Esther 2:3]
>What was the change that Esther had?
>By letting her eat only seeds because she said she was a vegetarian! And yet her appearance changed for the better in melody and beauty.
>4. “Esther did not reveal her people or her kindred, for Mordecai had told her not to reveal it.” [Esther 2:10]
>Why did Mordecai order Esther not to tell Ahasuerus that she was Jewish?
>1) Because he thought that the king would expel her from his house, since it is not honorable for the king to take a wife without any pedigree.
>2) Since Mordechai feared that Ahasuerus would love Esther - he would order all the ministers to marry Jewish women!
>5. Thanks to what did that generation deserve to be saved?
>Thanks to the fact that even though everyone knew that Esther was Jewish - no one revealed the secret!
>6. "For Mordecai the Jew ranked next to King Ahasuerus and was highly regarded by the Jews and popular with the multitude of his brethren; he sought the good of his people and interceded for the welfare of all his kindred." [Esther 10:3]
>Why isn’t it written ‘highly regarded by >all> the Jews' instead?
>Because it is impossible to please everyone, as there will always be someone who will be jealous.
